This is definitely my favorite Scott Walker record.

Patsy Cline: I Fall to Pieces
My mother would listen to Patsy Cline and Janis Joplin all the time when I was little and now I can’t help but love both of them too.

Letters to Cleo: Here & Now
This is what they looked like when I saw them play for the first time.

The Langley Schools Music Project: Desperado

“The Langley Schools Music Project is a collection of children’s chorus recordings made from 1976-77 by Canadian music teacher Hans Fenger in a school gymnasium in Langley, British Columbia, near Vancouver. The students performed unique versions of pop hits by the likes of The Beach Boys, David Bowie, and Paul McCartney. The recordings were quickly forgotten until Victoria record collector Brian Linds found the first record in a thrift store and sent it to author, WFMU radio DJ, and “outsider music” enthusiast Irwin Chusid in 2000. After ten label rejections, Irwin managed to get the album released on Bar/None Records, and it immediately created an international buzz, making many end-of-the-year best album lists in 2001. VH-1 coordinated a reunion of Fenger and dozens of his former students in 2002, and produced a documentary about the project.” (via wiki)
This whole album is brilliant and this one song in particular just stands out…it is so haunting and it reminds of the scene from the movie, In America, when the daughter sings this song to her father.
Feist & Sufjan Stevens Mashup: The Zomies are Inside Out

Annie - “Two of Hearts” (Stacey Q Cover)
Does anyone remember this from Full House?… DJ was obsessed with Stacy Q…oh and Annie is awesome.
So cool… I loved them even before they were on the Melrose Place soundtrack
Please tell me I’m not the only one excited about a Letter to Cleo reunion… my inner high school sophomore is wicked thrilled!
