oh winehouse. you break my heart. (I tear up even before she does)why is she a mess? she’s so talented.
Girl Talk: No Pause
Heart and Public Enemy just sound so right together.
Santogold: Creator
I love this song, but when i first heard it I swore it was M.I.A. (I love her too), but it was in a commercial for Miller Lite and I thought, um no, M.I.A. wouldn’t do that. Then I discovered Santogold and in turn I heard this song and now the video was just released. I think her back up dancers are the bomb. oh and she’s apparently a part of some hipster heatwave.
Time Machine: The Groove That Just Wont Stop.
This jam will get your booty bangin’…turn it up and shake your rump.
The Velvet Underground - “I’ll Be Your Mirror”
I love this song so much that I decided to include the lyrics. Simple and lovely.
I’ll be your mirror
Reflect what you are, in case you don’t know
I’ll be the wind, the rain and the sunset
The light on your door to show that you’re home
When you think the night has seen your mind
That inside you’re twisted and unkind
Let me stand to show that you are blind
Please put down your hands
‘Cause I see you
I find it hard to believe you don’t know
The beauty you are
But if you don’t let me be your eyes
A hand to your darkness, so you won’t be afraid
When you think the night has seen your mind
That inside you’re twisted and unkind
Let me stand to show that you are blind
Please put down your hands
‘Cause I see you
I’ll be your mirror
Yes, the rumors are true! On Friday, July 11th at 9PM, indie rock legends the Breeders will be setting up in our shop and playing a very special in-store performance, which will be filmed for an upcoming Live at Other Music episode. Obviously, space is super limited and we’ve only got 50 pairs of passes to go around. We’re going to keep it simple…all you have to do to enter is email enter@othermusic.com. We’ll be picking the 50 names at random on Tuesday, July 1st, and notifying the winners via email.
Hot! Hot! Hot!
